Don't Say a Word
Summary: Raven sees it as nothing more than friendship...Robin, on the other hand, thinks she needs to really think it through...

Chapter One: Just Listen

~~

Raven was in her room sitting on her bed, reading her book while running her hand through the sleeping Boy Wonder's hair. Dreams pondered on his mind. How he had gotten in this position, the screaming, the fighting...the kiss. Not exactly in that order. Lucky for them, they were alone.

Still, Raven had to remain emotionless.

~~

Raven had barely finished her meditation near the window when the Titans announced they were going out. While Beast Boy and Cyborg were out to get new video games, Starfire was out at the mall of shopping.

But Robin was no where in sight.

Raven walked to the kitchen to prepare her self her herbal tea for the day, out of the blue Robin appeared with a determined faced. What was he up to now? Raven wondered.

"Hey, Raven." All that determination and courage seemed to go down the drain.

"Yeah hi," she answered maybe a tad too angry.

Robin had noticed it, she knew but he did nothing about it. Robin registered in his mind Raven had been acting quite strange, her powers going haywire during meditation. He would watch her while the other boys played their video games. Her powers weren't the only thing that changed, the fact that she avoid her friends was another, she mostly ignored Robin as much as possible. The only time she would talk or even listen to him was during battle, when he was giving orders.

"Anything wrong, Raven?"

"No."

"I'm here if you wanna talk about it. I wanna help you."

She snapped, she didn't have time for this! "What makes you think I need help?"

The game station exploded had exploded, shattered pieces flew. Raven backed away from Robin. He only got closer to her, "Raven what's wrong?"

"Nothing. Stay away." She almost hissed.

"Raven let me help you." Robin grabbed her wrist.

"Let go of me. Stay back!" She cried. Pain filled in inside of her, she felt her powers act up. Shattering was heard, her eyes closed tight. Raven tried to pull away but Robin held her close. He kept calling her name, but she felt drowsy now. She opened her eyes but her vision was getting blurry. She had fainted.

Raven groaned, it happened again! Slowly her eyes opened up, right above her was a checkered mask she didn't want to see. Not after the scene she had made.

Robin had placed Raven on the couch, he grabbed a damp cloth and placed it on her for head. About two hours passed, Raven stirred and slowly woke up startled. "Raven are you okay?"

Raven heard mumbles, it was Robin. What was he saying?

"Raven what happened?" She finally heard. Raven sat up, rubbing her eyes.

"I don't know." She lied. "I just don't know." Raven remembered how Robin had interrogated with Beast Boy about the Beast that had rescued her. She didn't want for him to push her that way.

"Since when have you been passing out? Why didn't tell me?" he asked gently. "Or Cyborg? We can help."

"There's an...emotion...in me that, it causes this." she responded.

"An emotion?" Robin wondered, "Which one?"

"I can't say," she refused to tell him That would risk complicating their friendship or it would have major impact in her ability to control her powers. It was love. Not the kind of love you give to your dog or your best friend. The kind of love that could possibly jeopardize you or could give you your greatest happiness. She knew this was the one that could hurt her, Robin loved the naive, but attractive red head, Starfire.

She feared he would ask. "Are there any clues to it? Why exactly does it happen?"There were some clues due to that fact that it mostly happens when he's near him.

There's also the fact that she's alway disappearing as soon as she could get a chance, when he would appear.

Always near him...

"Does it have to do with me? You know which emotion, don't you?" Robin finally realized. "Raven I want to help."

"You can't!" She looked away from him. "No one can."

"I can try!"

"Why?"

"Because...because I love you Raven and I don't want anything to happen to you." Beneath his mask, his eyes softened. "I want to be there for you. I want to be with you."

"I can't love Robin, you know that." She stood up and glared at Robin. He didn't even flinch.

"Then how are you gonna deal with this, Raven?"

"On my own."

Robin took hold of her. "You can't do it on your own. You need some one with you. You need me."

Raven tried to resist looking at Robin face-to-face but it was too hard. The determined look, why does her mind always have to betray her like that? "I'm sorry," Came a mere whisper from her. Robin could see she was trying to stop herself from crying, she was bitting her lip.

"Look," Robin took a hold of Raven's chin and made him face him completely. "I wan to help you if you would only let me." He brought his face down closer to her, their lips mere centimeters away. Then...

His lips brushed over hers. She felt his hot breath, that tingly feeling she would get when she was near him had happened. She felt goose bumps running down her body. She couldn't help her self, she had no more will to contain her desire for him. She needed him, vigorously she kissed him with passion and all her desire to have him.
Raven caught him by surprice, draping her arms around him. But Robin didn't let it show.

But it didn't last long. The T.V., couch, the kitchen supplies and all of the windows exploded. Raven shield both of them, regretting what she had done. She back away, shaking her head. Feathers from the couch lightly showered over them, Robin sneezed.

"I knew it. I-I warn you Robin." Raven chanted her mantra, ready to get away from here.

"No wait."

"What do you want me to do Robin?"

Robin was surprise how Raven had manage to turn her voice back to its monotone self.
"I can't love without causing destruction. Everything in the tower exploded from a kiss. Imagine if we got deeper."

"I," Robin was speechless. She was right, a simple kiss destroyed halt the tower. What would happen when Robin would want to get to the next base?

"The city will be destroyed! And so will the people living here."

"I love you, Raven." His whisper was faint. He fell on his knees.

Raven walked up to him, slowly she placed her hand on his shoulder. "Are you willing to risk everyone's life's so you could be with me?" Robin never thought it this way.

True, he knew of her feelings going haywire if they were not on control. Love shouldn't be considered an emotion! Raven was right, would he really sacrifice the people he's worked hard to gain their trust, the people he saved on regular basis, just so his dreams could become reality?

"No, but-"

"I don't plan to. I knew allowing this was a mistake."

"You can't say that!" Robin quickly stood, wanting to get a hold of her.

Raven steeped away as he walked closer to her. What was she so afraid of?

"Listen," he said softly but his tone changed when Raven didn't look at him, "Listen to me! I love you matter what, it doesn't mean I wanna risk innocent people's life's."

"Then leave me be, Robin. I'm not asking for much."

"Your asking me for everything. You mean everything to me, and I don't want to loose you. You don't have to show me how much you love me, when I can see it for myself. And the only way I could see it is if I'm with you." He embraced her. A tear flowed down her cheek. She was...happy. Someone actually loved her. Robin was that someone.

Raven looked down at Robin before her and let a smile smile appear on her face. You won't stop until you get what you want, will you?

She blinked once then twice...uh-oh.

~~

The other Titans arrived all cheery and laughing together, only to be greeted by their destroyed living room. Their faces, flushed from color. Beast Boy dropped his bag of video games and shrieked. He quickly ran towards his game station, and sobbed. "What good are games if you don't have anything to play it in?" he cried, with high pitched screech.

"What happened?" Cyborg asked. He looked down at the changeling, almost feeling sorry for the little green guy.

"I fear I would not like know." Starfire shook her head.

People stuff their couches with feathers?! D: I want a feather-couch! Hehe.

Honestly, it was a bit too sappy for my taste, especially because Robin spoke and behaved rather out-of-character. I also thought their reaction to the "half-destroyed" Tower was rather unrealistic/(nonexistent?). It's a bit strange to describe such "devastation" and then have the two characters that caused said devastation to glance over it and continue to talk normally about the apparent destructive capacity of their love.

Your writing has a nice voice to it, and your descriptions are lovely. Even though I pointed out several things I didn't like, it wasn't bad at all and I did enjoy reading it. Keep it up. :)
